Professor Heinz-Dieter Quack: Tourism researcher through and through.

Heinz-Dieter Quack took an interest in tourism very early on. He studied at the University of Trier, thus laying the foundation for his career as a tourism researcher.
At a young age, he already understood two main focus areas, which have continued to form part of his work even today: Research, with the aim of analysing and modifying things, and also a clear commitment to the feasibility of implementing it in the business world.
Aside from academic stints at the Universities of Paderborn and Trier, Prof. Quack has worked as an expert and consultant since 1993. The now 42-year-old has been a professor for “General Business Management Studies”, particularly “Destination Management” at the Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel Technical College, and taught courses in tourism management, as well as town and regional management, since 2001.
